Our Principles

1-Principle of Solidarity against all kinds of discrimination

While struggling with stigma and discrimination against LGBTI+ persons, who are subject to stigma and discrimination in their process of questioning and trying to discover themselves about their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression; we stand against all forms of oppression and discrimination on account of religion, language, race, nationality, gender, citizenship, age, disability, etc.

2-The principle of nonviolence
We stand against all forms of violence with our discourses and actions we take. We identify methods to contribute to the culture of nonviolent relations and to resolve conflicts without resorting to the violence.

3-Principle of Privacy
We get involved in the private lives of the participants to the extent that they allow us to do. No information is shared with the third parties without the consent of the persons.

4-Principle of Volunteerism
The activities of the association are conducted on a voluntary basis and it is not allowed to misuse the authority for personal goals and interests.

5-The principle of decision making in decision-making process
A transparent, open and sincere approach is embraced while inclusive solutions are produced by choosing the best tools in line with the purposes. The Association takes its decisions by unanimity rule with the widest possible participation rate.

6-Principle of transparency
We attach importance to the principle of transparency in the decision-making processes regarding the discourse and actions we take.

7-Principle of responsibility and respect for labor
Since we carry out our studies on a voluntary basis, we adopt the principles of taking responsibility and using initiative through commissions, study groups and workshops. We respect everyone’s labor equally, without management hierarchy.

8-Principle of accountability for the responsibilities taken
We expect all of us to be able to fulfill our responsibilities, to ask for support in cases where we cannot fulfill them, or to transfer these responsibilities to someone else.

9-Principle of Reporting
We pay attention to prepare written reports after the events/meetings we attend, to mention the contributions of the event/meetings to the association in our reports, and to record/share the contact information of the persons we meet.

10-Principle of accountability in financial matters
We adopt the principle that funds and expenses should be accountable at any time. We share all the account information transparently with the participants.

11-Principle of Organization
We respect the experiences of participants who join our group individually, and encourage them to share and be participatory by informing them we are “listening to understand” them, without guiding and forcing them.

12-Principle of Independence
We do not represent any political party, government or institution. We shall not become a member of any initiative that will challenge our organizational independence. We do not seek the condition that all our principles to coincide with the groups and initiatives we work with. While working in line with common goals, we believe in mutual change and transformation, but we do not cooperate with entities that will not comply with our principles and that try to interfere with our decisions and policies.
